Everything you need to know about obtaining the big horse in ‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ is right here. I learned about this on Polygon and put it to the test for myself, and I strongly advise you to do the same.

How to get the giant horse inZelda: Breath of the Wild

Located in the Taobab Grassland, which is located just south of the Great Plateau, you may find the huge horse. Then warp to the Owa Daim Shrine, which is one of the four you must finish before you can progress further in the game. From there, paraglide to the mountain to the south. Once you’ve reached the top of the cliff, look down to the west for a herd of horses, one of which will be noticeably larger than the others. Due to the fact that it appears to be rousing the horse forces, this section is really amusing.

You’ll need around two full bars of stamina to complete the task, but after you’ve completed it, you may ride it to a stable and register it.

Jerry is the name I gave to my giant horse son.

He also has a wild disposition, which means he will not always heed your commands.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – How To Get the Giant Horse

There are various unique horses in Breath of the Wild that Link may locate all around the globe. Here’s how to get your hands on the extremely uncommon gigantic horse. Throughout multiple games in The Legend of Zeldaseries, Link has relied on his loyal horse Epona to transport him across the land of Hyrule. Nintendo, on the other hand, included a range of personalization choices to 2017’sBreath of the Wild in order to freshen up the experience. One of the newly added possibilities entailed horseback riding and traveling.

There are a few of uncommon horses who have stronger stats than the ordinary mount, despite the fact that many of them are identical in appearance.

This guide will show you how to locate and tame the Giant Horse in Breath of the Wild.

How To Find The Giant Horse

The Giant Horse is easily double the size of an ordinary horse, and as a result, it sticks out from the crowd. However, much like the other rare horses in Breath of the Wild, there is only one of this particular horse left in the world. Mount Hylia and Mount Faloraa are also nearby, and the Giant Horse may be found in the Taobab Grassland to the south of Mount Hylia and Mount Faloraa. Because of the large number of regular-sized horses gathered around it, it is clearly identified. Traveling to the Owa Daim Shrine is a convenient way to go to this site quickly and easily.

That implies that the horse’s location isn’t too far away from the point at which Link begins his adventure across the Great Plateau.

How To Tame The Giant Horse

In Breath of the Wild, taming a wild horse necessitates the player sneaking up on it and jumping on its back. The horse will attempt to buck Link off, causing him to lose his stamina, but calming them will finally bring the monster under control. Because the Giant Horse is significantly larger and more powerful than any other horse, it needs a little more effort. In order to avoid the Giant Horse being aware of your presence as you approach from behind, use anything that boosts Link’s stealth when approaching from behind.

The Stealth Armor Set, on the other hand, is the most certain route to succeed.

If a player possesses both the armor and a bonus from a meal or potion, or if the armor set has been upgraded by a Great Fairy, the situation is made even more favorable.

Link will also require a significant amount of stamina.

Once he has regained his composure, he will need to be registered with a stable. The Highland Stable, which is located east of the Nautelle Wetlands and south of the Giant Horse’s site, is the closest one to the giant horse.

Why The Giant Horse Is Worth Getting

It is entirely optional to accomplish the quest of locating the Giant Horse, however it is highly recommended that you do so. It’s not the quickest horse in the game, but it’s also not the most durable, as seen by its lack of endurance. That implies that after it achieves its maximum speed, it will not slow down until Link instructs it to do so explicitly. Because it is so massive, it receives five stars in the category of Strength. Players will be able to mow down hordes of enemy soldiers that cross their way without having to lift a finger in the process.

Breath Of The Wild: How To Find And Tame Giant Horse

We all know that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis a massive game with a ton of content for gamers to discover and explore. This is no exception. The several trials and shrines dispersed around Hyrule, as well as the four Divine Beasts, are some of the most prominent tasks in the game. However, there are a number of notable sidequests in the game as well that are worth your time. One of these sidequests lets players to gain a rare Giant Horse that towers over all of the other horses available in the game as a result of completing it.

What Makes The Giant Horse So Special?

While many of the horses in Breath of the Wild have numbers that are chosen by chance, the Giant Horse has stats that are predefined and always arrives with five-star strength, two-star speed, and no stamina. Despite the fact that this gigantic horse isn’t the quickest steed in Hyrule, especially considering that it is unable of boosting its speed or sprinting, its massive frame and tremendous strength allow it to immediately crush everything that is in its way. How will Link be able to obtain it?

Where Is It?

The Giant Horse can be found in the Taobab Grassland, just south of Mount Hylia and the Owa Daim shrine, which is perched atop the Great Plateau, in the southern part of the country. The Giant Horse, which can be seen from a distance, is difficult to miss because it dwarfs all of the other creatures that can be found grazing in the Grasslands with it. There are a number of large trees in the area surrounding the horse’s enclosure. It is possible to glide straight on top of the horse, thanks to the enormous trees and surrounding mountains and cliffs, allowing Link to mount it without scaring it away from the scene.

Stamina Is Key

It must be soothed once Link has mounted it, as is the case with all horses in Breath of the Wild. This is accomplished by continuously pressing the L button on Link’s controller. It should be noted that taming this horse would take more stamina than most other horses discovered in the wild, requiring two full stamina wheels to complete.

This implies that a player can only earn the Giant Horse if they have grown their maximum stamina to the point where they have two whole wheels accessible, or if they eat food that restores or offers more stamina while riding.

Watch Out For Lynels!

The next stage after successfully soothing the horse is to formalize your accomplishment by transporting it to any of the stables in Hyrule in order to name and register it with the appropriate authorities. Unfortunately, when compared to the position of the Taobab Grassland, none of the stables are in the most convenient location. It has been found that dragging the Giant Horse down south, toward the southern end of the field, and then east, towards the road that runs directly next to the mounted archery camp is one of the most reliable methods of removing it from these grasslands.

In addition, two Lynels may be found within a short distance of where the horse is located, on the walk south.

Enjoy Your Giant Horse!

Once registered, players will have permanent access to this one-of-a-kind and strong horse, which is outfitted with a distinctive Gerudo-styled saddle that pays homage to Ganondorf’s legendary beginnings! Breath of the Wild: Where To Find (& Ride) Ganon’s Horse

The Giant Horse in Breath of the Wild is unlike any other horse in the game, and it has a remarkable similarity to the horses that Ganondorf often rides. The mounts in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are a distinguishing component of the game. Due to the vastness of Hyrule, a travel across the kingdom on foot would add considerably more time to Link’s already lengthy quest. While Link can ride a variety of animals in Battle of the Worlds, equestrian mounts are the most common choice because they can be broken and stabled.

  • Probably the most well-known appearance of Ganondorf’s horse is in the video game Ocarina of Time.
  • Later in the game, when Link delivers the three Spiritual Stones to theTemple of Time in Ocarina of Time, he meets face to face with Ganondorf, who is riding his black and red horse.
  • Although Ganondorf is never seen riding a horse again, the phantom horse that appears during the Phantom Ganon boss fight in the Forest Temple has a striking similarity to the original.
  • The mane and tail of theTwilight Princesshorse are not nearly as bright as those of the Giant Horse inBreath of the Wild, but its coat is a comparable shade of black to that of the Giant Horse inOcarina.

Without knowing how long the Giant Horse has been alive, it is more plausible that it is a descendent of an earlier horse that Ganondorf may have rode before Breath of the Wild was released.

Where To Find (Probably) Ganondorf’s Giant Horse

West of Lake Hylia, in the Taobab Grassland, is where you’ll find this massive monolith of a mountain. The valley of the Taobab Grassland is home to some of the most unusual trees on the planet. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a video game developed by Nintendo. The Giant Horse can be found in a herd with its smaller equivalents of similar size. One of the side quests in the game is dedicated to the Giant Horse, and it may be begun at the Mounted Archery Camp in the Faron Grasslands, southwest of Lake Hylia, where it can be found.

Level 1 is the most basic level of difficulty. This is a fantasy game. BOTW #21 – The Giant Horse & Loone

During my explorations near Mount Lanayru, the Sheika Sensor began beeping to alert me that a shrine was in the vicinity. I followed it down and detonated a bomb along a wall to locate the shrine. To my surprise, I was able to accomplish the shrine quest, “The Secret of the Cedars!” I wasn’t even seeking for it; I just happened to come upon it by chance while walking. I was fortunate enough to witness another spectacular dawn nearby at Mapla Point. The effect of the sun on the ocean was really breathtaking.

  • My Sheikah Sensor was beeping once more, this time just north of Lindor’s Brow.
  • Because of the cave’s location, tossing explosives was not an option at the time of the attack.
  • It was considerably easier to get into the cave and finish the shrine as a result of this.
  • He claims to be the proprietor of the Fang and Bone store, despite the fact that the establishment was not yet open for business.
  • I’m confident that I’ll run across him again.
  • So you think you like yourself?
  • A guy named Straia wanted me to catch a large horse for him at the Mounted Archery Camp, which was a long way away.

I parachuted down from the sky and landed directly on top of the enormous horse!

After regaining my strength, I scaled a nearby tree and attempted once more.

Straia was a happy.

He was preoccupied with the size of it.

I was still on the horse, which was the best part, of course.

It’s officially mine!

As I continued my exploration, I came across what I believed to be a fairy fountain.

He’s a little creepy.

Why don’t you try a piece of sourdough bread?

He couldn’t really help me because I didn’t have any dead horses or anything like that on my hands.

Breath of the Wild features some truly bizarre characters who don’t appear to be very.sane.

On Puffer Beach, I met a gentleman who went by the name of Loone.

She was stroking it and conversing with it, and she even gave it the name Roscoe.

I needed the orb to activate a shrine, but she wouldn’t let me have him unless I showed her pictures of three different types of guardians: a small one, a walking one, and a flying one.

This was something I kept in mind as I continued my journey.

After exchanging four spirit orbs for a stamina vessel, I was able to track down Kilton once the sun had set.

However, he only accepts a particular type of currency known as mon (as inmon stermon ey).

The monster masks allow you to blend in with the specific species of monster you’re wearing them on.

Is it possible that this hat makes my ears appear larger?

It was a combat trial, and I snapped a picture of the Guardian Scout inside to fulfill the “small guardian” requirement for Loone’s shrine quest, which required a picture of the Guardian Scout.

As soon as I showed her the pictures, she was completely taken aback by her newfound attraction and fascination with guardians.

There’s something wrong with that young lady.

After completing it, I (eventually) made my way back to Hateno Village.

I hired Bolson and Karson repeatedly to completely finish off my house. This completed the “Hylian Homeowner” side quest, but also, they gave me some free furniture! Yeah, but why can’t I customize it? I figured this was a good stopping point for now. Here’s my latest progress update:

  • 33.82 percent of the tasks were completed
  • Shrines were 94/120 completed
  • Korok seeds were 170/900 completed
  • Shrine quests were 25/42 completed
  • Side quests were 48/77 completed
  • Hyrule Compendium was 334/385 completed.

And, last but not least, I have a new video to share with you! Here is the second installment of Breath of the Wild FAILS!

BOTW: The Best Horses, and Where to Find Them

If you grew up playing Ocarina of Time in the 1990s and remember nothing better than riding Epona across Hyrule field as the sun sank over Castle Town, you’ll be pleased to know that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis the most horse-friendly Zelda game to be released to date. If you’ve played through the game’s first few levels, you’ve probably already figured this out for yourself. You might not be aware of the unusual horses that are just waiting for you to catch them, tame them, and fall in love with them.

So, whether you’re seeking for a pleasant equine companion or you’re determined to tame the very Lord of the Mountain himself, follow our Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildhorses guide and you’ll be riding off into the sunset in no time.

Taming wild horses

However, while obtaining your first horse in Breath of the Wild isn’t the game’s most difficult task, doing so isn’t quite so simple as you may assume. Wining the horse race in Ocarina of Time was surely more difficult than it is here. First and foremost, you must locate a horse. The Dueling Peaks stable may be found towards the beginning of the game if you complete the introductory portion on the plateau first, then go east past the two big mountains that stand between them to get at the Dueling Peaks stable.

  • Click on the left stick to enter sneak mode, then creep up behind the horse and seize it with your right hand.
  • Take into consideration the fact that some horses will just be too wild for you to catch in the beginning.
  • This will become simpler as your stamina increases, however you may cheat a little by making stamina-boosting delicacies with ingredients such as stamella mushrooms and restless insects to make things a little easier.
  • Then pay 20 rupees for a saddle and bridle, and you’ve got yourself a very nice horse named “Princess” or “Sniffy.” You are now free to remove your horse from any stable you come across.
  • In the beginning, new horses don’t take to you well, and as a result, they won’t listen to your directions.

The small sparkles on its neck indicate that you’re doing something correctly. Over time, your horse will grow acclimated to you and your riding style (you can check your bond at any stable).

Customizing your horse

Once your bond has reached its maximum value, you may begin customizing your mount. Most stables allow you to customize your horse’s mane and color, as well as its saddle and bridle, by chatting with the person who is responsible for caring for the horses (to the right of where you register new horses). The mane styles and dye will be unlocked automatically, but you’ll have to go out and find the bridles and saddles on your own. There are a variety of methods for obtaining them. You may compete against horse aficionados in a variety of mini-games, including a horseback archery mini-game to the west of the Highland Stable in Faron’s southern area, and a gate-jumping challenge at the same stable, among others.

Resurrecting your horse

Although you might think differently, your horses are capable of dying in Breath of the Wild. If you get as close to them as we have become, it will be a huge sorrow if one of them passes away. Fortunately, there is a method to draw their horsey spirits back over the River Styx if you know which pockets to line up with your money. Those pockets belonged to none other than the horse deity Malanya, and if you’d like to find out for yourself, you may skip the rest of this section altogether. The “Lake of the Horse God” is a geographical feature on the map that may be found in southern Faron.

She can bring your dead horses back to life.

Where to find the rarest and best horses inBreath of the Wild

You’ll almost certainly fall in love with some of the more ordinary horses you see on your voyage, but if you want the finest of the best, you’ll have to go far and wide. Alternatively, you may rely on us since we have previously done so.

Epona

Depending on whether or not you have the Twilight Link Smash amiibo, the legendary horse Epona will either be the most difficult or the simplest horse you will encounter in Breath of the Wild. It is guaranteed that Epona will spawn the first time you use it; but, after that, spawning is completely random. When attempting to use the amiibo to summon Epona, it is advised that you do it near a stable to ensure success. By refreshing the save, you may continue to use the same amiibo indefinitely.

It has also been suggested that scanning a large number of non-Zelda related amiibo before scanning Epona would increase your chances of getting her to revive.

The Royal Horse

It is possible to find the Royal Horse atop Safula Hill, which is to the west of central Hyrule Field and across the Regencia River.

The Royal Horse is descended from Princess Zelda’s personal horse from a century ago. Toffa at the Outskirt Stable has a side mission that you can pick up if you are unable to discover it by searching around.

Stalhorse

At night, these skeleton horses can be seen carrying skeletal adversaries on their backs, which is a rare occurrence. The eastern section of North Tabantha Snowfield in Hebra, which lies to the northwest, is a good area to look for. Look in the vicinity of the North Lomei Labyrinth. A woman at the Snowfield Stable will pay you if you take a picture of one of their horses.

Giant Horse

This enormous horse, which is double the size of a typical steed, may frequently be observed conducting a horse conference in the Taobab Grassland, which is located south of the beginning plateau. A researcher beside a campfire to the west of Highland Stable, right across the Menoat River, will give you a side task to bring him the enormous horse, which you must complete before continuing on your journey.

Sand seals

While wandering through the Gerudo area, you will very certainly come upon a group of sand seals. Because the location is extremely hot, you’ll need to wear cooling apparel or drink a heat-resistant elixir if you want to live in this climate. If possible, approach the seals in a quiet manner; sneak up to them and tie a rope around their necks for extra protection. We propose approaching them from a higher altitude and then gliding over to the seals to get a better view. We favor this specific method since the seals have excellent hearing and will most likely hear your footsteps long before you get close to them, allowing you to avoid being eaten.

Other wildlife

You are not restricted to horseback riding. You may even try your hand at riding deer or bears if you so choose. Theoretically, you may sneak up on and ride each new animal you come across in order to see whether or not you can tame them sufficiently to travel with them.

The Lord of the Mountain

The Lord of the Mountain is, without a doubt, the most impressive horse in this video game. On the surface, it appears to be a bigger version of the luminous blue bunnies that you may have seen in the forest earlier this year. Satori Mountain is home to this horse, which may be seen at night. To locate the peak, watch for a halo of light above its top, similar to that of the Aurora Borealis. It is located west of Hyrule Field, adjacent to the royal horse, and is accessible by foot. It will be difficult to train the Lord of the Mountain, as he is a formidable opponent.

It is entirely possible that stable employees may track you down to warn you about the “curses” that the horse will bring.

The best horses in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

There are a plethora of different horses to pick from in The Legend of Zelda, including several unique horses that may be obtained either through the game or through amiibo, as well as a variety of wild horses. It is difficult to decide which one to utilize. You’ll find that if you search for “fastest horse” on Google, the results will come up with the name “Royal Stallion,” which is completely false, considering that it is the second slowest horse on this list after the enormous horse. You may also obtain a wild horse, which is superior than the special horses, which is another pleasant surprise.

So let’s put an end to this discussion once and for all by compiling a list of the top horses we can discover in the game!

They are fun to ride, but because you can’t register them at a stable, they aren’t really practical. The stats of these unique horses are set in stone. Two of these items may be obtained through in-game quests.

Giant horse

“It’s enormous,” as the NPC in the Mounted Archery Camp would put it emphatically. It’s the most important horse in the race. It has a strength of 5, a speed of 2, and has no stamina to speak of. The horse, in contrast to other horses, accelerates quickly and can be faster than 3-star speed horses, which must slow down as they approach top speed. This horse can be found in theTaobab Grasslandin theLake TowerRegion, specifically in the Lake Tower Region. You must speak with Straia at the Mounted Archery Camp in order to begin the quest.

Check out this guide for complete instructions on how to obtain it.

It’s a shame because you lose the ability to summon it anywhere because you can’t put theAncient Saddleon it, which is a bummer.

Royal horse

The Royal horse is very gorgeous. It’s said to be a descendent of the horse that Princess Zelda rode in the original Legend of Zelda. After completing the quest, you will also receive theRoyal Horse Gear, which is quite stunning on the horse. A horse with 4 stars for strength, 3 stars for speed, and 5 stars for endurance makes for a well-rounded rider’s mount. Although not the greatest in terms of statistics, it comes close. To begin, speak with ToffaatOutskirt Stable in order to begin the mission.

I found it in the meadow, wandering around a tree near a horse statue, distant from the other horses who were there with me.

Epona

Epona is the horse that Link has been riding since the beginning of the series. It receives four stars in each category. If you have the Smash Bros. Series Link Amiibo, you may use it to obtain it. Because I don’t have it, there will be no Epona for me:( It is not possible to modify the name of the horse, nor can the bridle or saddle be changed. Horses are pretty much worthless if you can’t equip them with antique equipment since they aren’t around when you need them the most.

Link’s horse

This horse is noteworthy since it appears in the game trailers and appears in a number of the game’s memory sequences. When facing Ganon, it is also the default horse that appears if you do not have a horse equipped. It has a strength rating of 4, a speed rating of 3, and a stamina rating of 3. This horse may be found in theTaobab Grassland and the Upland Lindor, among other places. More information about this horse may be found in this Reddit thread. Pona is the name I gave to mine because it’s a poor man’sEpona:( The greatest horses may be found in the Ridgeland Towerregion, in the grassland just aboveMaag No’rah Shrine, nearSerenne Stable, and in the grassland just aboveMaag No’rah Shrine.

If you didn’t like the horses you got the first time, you may save and load them again to receive new colored horses.

Just make sure you don’t acquire any of the ones with spots because their stats aren’t great. Even though it will take a few tries to achieve the numbers you like, the stable is close by, so it isn’t a huge hassle. Check out this video, which explains in detail how to catch them in the first place.

The fastest Horse

With 5 stars for speed, the fastest horse in the game may be discovered with a strength of 2, a speed of 5, and a stamina of 3. The horse with the highest strength and stamina is the quickest horse in the game. In terms of strength and stamina, he isn’t very noteworthy. Strength, on the other hand, just shows the amount of health available, not the amount of attack power available. So keep it out of the hands of your adversaries and you’ll be alright. This horse has such a quick feel about it that you won’t realize how fast it is until you get on it.

The use of Endura Carrots will temporarily boost your endurance if you truly need it.

When I found one that was blue, I named it Caspian, presumably because the sea is blue and because Caspian is the name of a sea.

The all-rounded horse

This is, without a doubt, my favorite horse. It is not too sluggish and has excellent overall numbers, which are even better than those of Epona. It has the finest numbers in the game, according to my knowledge, with a strength of 4, a speed of 4, and a stamina of 5. Mine is a wonderful dark brown hue with a little sheen to it. I called it Arion, after the sacred horse of Greek mythology, since I thought it was appropriate. I really hope that this post met all of your horse-related needs. Furthermore, renaming a special horse such as the Royal horse or the Giant horse is possible by releasing them into the wild and relocating them there.

To be able to release a horse, you must first fill up your slots by catching a total of 5 horses.

Hunt for the Giant Horse

View the index of the guide To get to the Mounted Archery Camp from the Lake Tower, travel south on the road (picture1). Visit Straia there, who will ask you to bring him a gigantic horse (see figure 2), which you must do. Head northwest until you reach Taobab Grassland, which is a desert grassland with only a few trees, and then turn south (pictures3and4). If you want to mount this horse, the most straightforward method will be to jump from one of the nearby trees and land immediately on its back (picture5).

You should prepare an Endura Carrot to make an Enduring Fried Wild Greens dish first before attempting to tame that horse because that dish has the potential to overfill your Stamina Wheel.

Keep in mind that on your journey back to him, you will pass across the paths of two Lynels (picture7).

In either case, after speaking with Straia, you will receive a Silver Rupee (pictures8and9). Please remember to bring this uncommon animal to the nearest stable for registration while you are out riding.
