Toni Collette and Damian Lewis will star in the picture, which was confirmed in March 2019 as being directed by Euros Lyn and starring Toni Collette and Damian Lewis. In Teale’s words, “from the beginning, I was a little concerned about how much of it was a little bit of myth, you know, in local terms in Wales, where we’re from,” says the Tony Award-winning Welsh actor whose credits include HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” and other British television programs. During a video chat from Scotland, he explains that he had never believed that people, even from a remote and insignificant location like Cefn Fforest, would be resolute enough.
The film “Dream Horse,” which will be released in theaters on Friday, May 21, turned out to be more factual than Teale had originally anticipated.

Toni Collette was Lyn’s first choice for the character of Jan from the minute he first read the script, and he had no second thoughts. “She is a chameleon of an actor with such a wide range,” he says of her abilities. “Her variety is astounding, ranging from the sheer passion and horror of ‘Hereditary,’ to ‘Muriel’s Wedding,’ or ‘Little Miss Sunshine,’ or the Charlie Kaufman picture that she recently appeared in.” As Lyn points out, “She’s a legitimate, bona fide Hollywood movie star who can portray down-to-earth, gritty, real characters, which is something that just a few of actors can accomplish while maintaining their screen charisma.” Teale, who had previously collaborated with Collette on the HBO miniseries “Tsunami: The Aftermath,” joked that he was fortunate to have met her before starting work on the film.
In addition to praising the rest of the cast, he says, “It was terrific for me because I believe she’s one of those individuals with whom you could squander some time just being slightly in awe of her.” Lyn had similar things to say about the performers, praising Teale in particular for his performance as the bereaved husband to Collette’s fiercely determined wife, who she described as “sad and lost.” The actress Lyn describes Teale as having “a presence and a compassion that so frequently steals the stage because your heart hurts for him.” “In our narrative, there is a gigantic, immensely powerful man who has lost his sense of purpose, and he portrays it with such amazing tragedy.
